Massachusetts Government Employee Spends Workdays at Strip Clubs
The best minds are not in government. If any were, business would steal them away. – Ronald Reagan
Bureaucracy – the giant power wielded by pygmies. – Honore de Balzac
The citizens of the State of Massachusetts should be proud of Deputy Director Robert Deblinger of Mass Wildlife. Deblinger is another government bureaucrat drinking from the public trough. In the case of Deblinger, he is not only drinking from the public trough, he is drinking from the troughs at Club Fantasies and the Cadillac Lounge in Rhode Island.
A Fox undercover investigation by Mike Beaudet and Producer Kevin Rothstein discovered that Deblinger would leave his office at 11:00 a.m. and drive a government vehicle to Rhode Island to enjoy the rest of his workday at strip clubs. Beaudet and his crew followed Deblinger to Rhode Island on nine different days. To be fair, the life of a deputy director in state government is probably very stressful; I’m surprised it has never made it on a top ten list of toughest jobs. I’m sure the stress Deblinger was under would not allow him to put in more than a couple of hours at his office each day zoning out at his desk. I wonder if Deblinger ever tweeted something like this while he was at the strip clubs: #StillNotWorking, #AtWorkStillNotWorking? How about #GeezGlitterOnMyShirt? Okay, last two, #MyBossIsStupid, #ILoveMyGovtJob.
After the Fox station in Boston broke the story, Deblinger was placed on administrative leave, and while he was on leave he resigned from his job that paid him $106,484 annually. The people of Massachusetts can take comfort in the fact that Deblinger is no longer on the payroll.. Wait, Deblinger had “worked” over 20 years for the State of Massachusetts, so he is going to receive a pension of $46,000 annually.
